Each piece is hand crocheted in Nepal by skilled artisans with hemp and cotton. The process involves harvesting wild hemp and preparing it for crocheting.  Cotton is mixed in with the hemp to provide extra comfort.  Hand embroidered flowers are the final touch. In the end, this beautiful piece provides comfort and protection from the sun! A UPF rating of 35 meets the protection rating of Very Good UV. The UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) measures how effective a fabric is against solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR). This hat has been labeled according to the ASTM standard specification. UPF 35 blocks more than 97.1% of the UV rays.
